Late-breaking or not?

ICGJ 2019 conference has two submission deadlines: regular deadline (12th December 2018) and the late-breaking deadline (4th February 2019). Late-breaking deadline is for work that was conducted on game jams and hackathons between November 2018 and January 2019 – and thus were not possible to be submitted to the first deadline.

This means that you still have time to work on your ideas on Global Game Jam 2019 research! But ICGJ is not only about Global Game Jam, and there are various other jams that provide excellent research opportunities for us jam scholars. For instance, there is a surprising lack of studies conducted on the world’s biggest and oldest online jam, Ludum Dare (https://ldjam.com/). Research conducted on the 43th Ludum Dare is definitely worthy of a late breaking paper for ICGJ 2019!

You can also find many interesting jams around the globe for your event reports and research papers. Check out for instance jams utilizing the Itch.io platform: https://itch.io/jams.
